STEEN Solution™ is a buffered extracellular solution optimally designed to perfuse isolated donor lung during ex vivo lung perfusion. STEEN Solution™ contains dextran 40 to coat human serum albumin and endothelium to provide optimal colloid osmotic pressure and protect it from excessive leukocyte interference. The STEEN Solution™ is designed for the evaluation of isolated lungs after removal from the donor body for eventual transplantation into a recipient.
